Battlefield: Bad Company
10/10
2008-07-15 22:05
While my history with the Battlefield series has its ups and downs, my experience with Bad Company has been on the up side of things from the get-go.

Mass Effect
10/10
2008-05-26 16:11
I’m really enjoying Mass Effect so far, especially considering I never thought I would bother with it. If you’re of the same opinion that I was, I suggest you go out and give it a rent. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
8/10
2008-04-14 00:00
I enjoy SSB Brawl far more than I anticipated. While it would have been nice to see some more drastic changes across the board, it’s a solid installment in this popular franchise and won’t disappoint long-time fans.

Super Mario Galaxy
9/10
2008-03-22 19:04
I find myself still passing the time with Mario. And while we’ve both changed over the years, I still see all of the qualities in him that brought us so close in the first place. He might have mis-lead me a few times here and there, but for the most part, I can rely on him for a good time when it counts. And such, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl have been monopolizing my gaming time over these past few weeks.

Burnout Paradise
9/10
2008-02-10 13:23
For the most part, I like the direction Paradise has taken the Burnout series. I’ve put over 15 hours into it already, and have lots left to do. So it seems as though I’ll be playing this game for some time to come.

Unreal Tournament 3
8/10
2007-12-23 09:32
Unreal Tournament 3 is exactly what you’d expect it to be. It’s the logical next step in the UT franchise. It’s just as much fun and intense to play as the previous games. It brings some slight adjustments to some of the game modes - Warfare = OnSlaught 2.0, but it’s basically all there. And of course, everything is just a bit bigger, louder and looks nicer.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
9/10
2007-12-15 10:30
Having watched many interviews with the Naughty Dog team on Uncharted, I know they strived to deliver something entirely different. Something beautiful, yet dark. Something simple, yet complex. Uncharted really does cover a lot of ground and it’s delivered in a seamless package that had me hooked from the get-go.

Assassin’s Creed
9/10
2007-11-18 20:44
Assassin’s Creed is an absolutely fantastic game. The amount of time and effort that went into nearly every aspect of the game is clearly evident.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
10/10
2007-11-12 17:23
There isn’t much to say about the graphics, sound and music other than they are top notch. As we have come to expect from the COD franchise, it’s right up there with the leading games in terms of graphics capabilities - level of detail, lighting, etc.

The Orange Box: Portal

No matter what you’re playing right now, I would recommend pushing it aside and picking up The Orange Box.

Halo 3
10/10
2007-10-04 17:22
To sum it up - there’s so much game here, I’ll be playing it for months on end without a doubt. It really has been worth the wait and deserves every bit of hype it’s received.

Skate
8/10
2007-09-23 17:51
As much as Skate is an achievement in the innovation department, it does fall short in many areas, especially the single player mode. I think it’s definitely a step in the right direction and a fantastic first attempt at trying something completely different.

Heavenly Sword
9/10
2007-09-16 23:35
While it may be short (about 6 hours to complete), I would say it’s justified. Everything in the game is so well done and so detailed, that it’s obvious a hell of a lot of time and effort was put into this game. It simply can’t be under-valued because it doesn’t have a 20 hour campaign.

BioShock
10/10
2007-09-03 14:48
It’s a beautiful thing when a game that has been hyped up over the course of a couple years truly delivers. BioShock does just that, and much more.

God of War 2
9/10
2007-08-02 23:49
It should go without saying that one of my first purchases since owning a PS3 was God of War 2. I also picked up Resistance: Fall of Man, but Kratos has completely won me over for the time being and I can’t put it down.

It seems that every few months a lower profile game comes along that knocks everyone back in their seat. DiRT is definitely one of those games.

The Darkness
9/10
2007-07-07 00:52
While The Darkness is not entirely unique by any means, it manages to do just enough to really stand out in the crowd. At the same time, the familiarity that I feel while playing this game gives me a warm and tingly feeling deep down.

Forza Motorsport 2
10/10
2007-06-03 00:53
As the release date approached, I found myself getting less-and-less excited about Forza 2. I’m not sure what contributed to that, but as soon as I had it in my hand, I knew it was over for every other game I’m playing. And that even goes for the Halo 3 Beta, which I haven’t touched in over a week. Yes, Forza 2 is that good.

Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta
9/10
2007-05-20 00:54
To this day, most of my gaming time is spent playing solo or co-op through campaigns as opposed to the shit-talking frag-fest that is multiplayer gaming. At least that’s been the case until this past week. While I’ve been trying to get back to replaying a few games through on harder difficulties and tying up loose ends, I’ve been drawn to Halo 3 something awful.

Guitar Hero 2
9/10
2007-04-05 00:55
I’m fully stoked for my work day to come to an end as I have a couple buddies coming over (and bringing a second axe!) to rock out tonight. It’s going to be stupid fun, I know. A few beers, a plastic guitar and some good old rock and roll - fuck yeah!

Lost Planet

All in all, Lost Planet is a great single player experience with some pretty fun multiplayer action to be had as well. Lots of great moments and some absolutely huge bosses.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8
8/10
2006-12-03 23:56
Project 8 puts a rad new spin on an old series that's gone downhill over the past couple releases. Despite constant framerate issues and the occasional stupid/silly goal (fucking Bam!), THP8 is a solid and very fun game.

Call of Duty 3
8/10
2006-11-23 23:57
Being a huge fan of the Call of Duty series from the beginning, I was extremely disappointed to discover that COD3 is not up to par with its predecessors and feels like it would be a better fit as part of the Medal of Honor series.

Viva Piñata
10/10
2006-11-14 00:56
Somehow, the game that I’ve been anticipating as a home run with my wife and daughter has got me so engaged that I’m having a hard time putting down my controller while I struggle to see through glazed over eyes. Hannah’s playing it as I type this and have dinner on the go and I’m wishing I was in there trying to attract new breeds of Piñata to my garden.

Half-Life 2 Episode One
9/10

Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis
9/10

Tomb Raider Legend
8/10
2006-04-28 00:18
Tomb Raider Legend is a visual feast and a blast to play through the first couple times. Unfortunately, once you’ve beaten the game, there’s nothing else to do unless you’re into gathering collectibles and hidden treasures. Luckily, there’s decent rewards in the form of achievements in store for those that have the patience to find them all.

Brothers In Arms Road To Hill 30
9/10
2005-04-09 00:23
Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30 is one of the best games I’ve ever played, hands down. You can’t even compare the dozens of other WWII FPS to it - there’s simply no comparison. BIA is such a unique experience that it soars above the rest in a place all it’s own.

Resident Evil 4

Being a huge fan of the Resident Evil series since RE 2 was released on the Playstation many moons ago - I could hardly wait for RE 4 to be released! Last weekend I rented it and Deanna and I played it Friday, Saturday and Sunday night for a few hours each. It’s such a great game, I hardly know where to start.

Call Of Duty United Offensive
9/10

The COD series has this unreal sense of intensity like no other. There’s times when I actually have to pause the game, sit back and take a few deep breaths. Highly recommended.
