A few months ago I wrote about downloading TV shows, and the steps I take that allow me to watch them in the living room on the main TV. I was taken back by the feedback I received and surprised how many people were doing something similar, as opposed to taking one of the many simpler routes. Many great tips and techniques were shared, and I’ve done a lot of research and consideration since. While I haven’t come up with the end-all-be-all solution, I’ve eased the process and expanded the reach.

I’m very pleased and excited to officially announce that I’ll be speaking at WordCamp Toronto 2009, which takes place the weekend of May 8-10. When I first caught wind of the event, I was immediately interested in attending. I never thought I’d see the day when I wrote about income tax, but it seems many people are unaware of the benefits working freelance has when it comes to write-offs. Especially if you’re working from home. While I didn’t exactly have a smile on my face when I left the accountant last week, I was pleased with the deductions I was able to make this year.
