Nearly two years ago, I introduced my Bare Bones Stylesheet – the basis for every project I’ve worked on since that time. It’s not a full blown framework, but rather a collection of selectors I commonly use. Everything from structural elements, to typography is covered. A couple options for different logo and nav treatments are included, along with basically everything else I might need. When it comes to watching television shows, lots has changed over the years. For the most part, we’ve had a way of recording shows and watching them later. For a long time, a VCR was our best bet. Now we have PVRs, on demand channels, digital distribution services, and more manual avenues like downloading via BitTorrent or Usenet. Redesigning Darren Rowse’s largest project was both exciting and terrifying. The site had out-grown its previous design, so there was lots of room for improvement, and plenty of new content to squeeze in as well. Dividing the site into prominent sections was also one of the main goals, which was achieved largely by focused colour scheme changes depending on the parent section of the content you’re viewing at the time. With a combined subscriber base of nearly half a million, I think it’s safe to say that DPS is the project in my portfolio…

Lara and I have had a pretty good relationship to date. For the third consecutive year, we’ve hooked up and spent 12-15 enjoyable hours tracking down ancient treasures and weapons, solving massive puzzles, all the while collecting goodies and defeating baddies. We’ve traveled the world a few times over and have always parted ways with smiles on our faces. Unfortunately, this time I’m left feeling a little burned. Lara was far more defiant than I recalled – jumping into walls, instead of jumping up to grab the near-by ledge. Or flat-out jumping the wrong…
