They aren't necessarily the best games, or the most impressive, but they're the games that I have the most fond memories of, and will likely stick with me over the years.
While it's not the greatest game I played this year, or even in the top 5, it had some moments that I'll likely remember for some time, and overall I enjoyed playing through the campaign.
Halo 4 is definitely still a Halo game through-and-through, but 343i's refinements have shaped it into something a bit more magical, and a heck of a lot more enjoyable.
Mass Effect 3 concludes the epic story which follows Commander Shepard as he/she tries to prevent the annihilation of every sentient being in the galaxy.
Mass Effect 2 bests its predecessor in every way, and that's saying a lot!
I'm on a bit of a theme development binge this month and next. One down, 4 to go!
Aside from a couple of the big guys in the gaming industry, I don’t indulge in year end top XX lists. In fact, I’ve hit “mark all as read” in my feed reader more times over this past week than I likely did over the course of this year. But for some reason, I felt […]
Fable 2 is a game I never saw myself playing. As we approached the release date, and with every bit of gameplay footage that was released, I found that I was distancing myself further and further. For starters, I'm not a big RPG gamer. I really enjoyed Mass Effect, but I believed that to be a fluke. The fantasy genre isn't at the top of my list, either. And here we are, with a fantasy RPG. Naturally, it had little appeal from the get-go. But I found myself in a spot where every new game I wanted to play was on my Christmas list (which means I can't rent or buy them until after the holidays), so I decided to give it a rent... and I'm glad I did!
Over the past month or so, I’ve found that my schedule has taken a more hectic and unpredictable turn. Obviously, having a baby around really shakes thing up and it’s pretty hard to plan anything. Whether that be an outing on the weekend, or simply planning to catch up on some TV or gaming in […]
Just after this year’s E3, I wrote about all the great games that are coming out by the end of this year and broke them down into two lists. Games I will most likely buy and others that I’m on the fence about. The year isn’t up yet and we’re actually in the calm before […]
Every year since I started this blog, I’ve followed up E3 with my own reflections on the major platforms and up-coming games. Last year I wrote at length on the hardware and software Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony‘s brought to the event. But, I’ve decided to skip this year. I really didn’t see a whole lot […]
