It's about how WordPress just fucked me out of a post. I guess the auto-save feature isn't all it's cracked up to be. I had just finished writing a post about Crackdown and my additiction to agility orbs and clicked the "Save and Continue Editing" button so I could preview my post before publishing. Instead of refreshing the post as it normally does, it took me to a page that asked if I'm sure I want to edit the post - to which I said "yes" while a little confused.
I remember a time, not too long ago, when a customer had a problem with a service that was being provided, the retailer would compensate them in some form or other. Waived fees, gift certificates, upgraded services, etc. That doesn't seem to be the case these days. I'm finding more and more companies are totally content being mediocre, at best. Well I don't know about you, but I'm fucking sick of it! I'm paying good money every month for services and products that are sub-standard and I think I've finally had enough.
Nearly a month ago (April 11, to be exact), Battlefield 2 Modern Combat was released for the Xbox 360. As I've mentioned a couple times before, I was a huge fan of the first couple Battlefield games but had major problems with Battlefield 2 for the PC. It seemed every time a patch was released, I would end up spending a couple hours trying to get the game running again which normally resulted in me abandoning the game out of frustration. Although Modern Combat is not the same game as the PC version, I was really hoping that I could catch up the time I missed out on and finally enjoy the Battlefield series again. Unfortunately, I'm lead down the same path of repeated disappointments.
We've all heard tales of pushy and/or less than knowledgeable sales people, without a doubt. I had a few 'experiences' this week with these types of sales people that I just have to share. Shut up! Shut up! Just, shut up! I'm in the market for a capture device so I can grab video from consoles. I have it narrowed down to a few that I have to order as no local stores carry them. I was in a local independent shop the other day and as I was making my way towards the checkout, I decided to ask if they had any decent capture devices. They normally only carry Allinwonder's or those cheesy firewire PCI cards. Sure enough, that's all they had. When I told the guy what I was looking for, he immediately jumped into a pitch for this 9800 Allinwonder. I stopped him in his tracks immediately as I'm not a fan of ATI - had some wicked bad experiences with them in the past which resulted in me taking a picture of my ATI card amongst some rotting food in the garbage and sending it to them with some carefully worded hate mail.
