When I’ve Got the Music, I’ve Got a Place to Go

Once upon a time, I was a musician. Wait, that's not how this story should begin. One thing I'm sure 99.9% of you don't know about me is that I used to play drums. Not only did I play drums... Music, whether I was playing it or listening to it, was a huge part of my life. It surrounded everything I did. As things change and people grow up and apart, I sort of did the same with music. While I still spend 8-10 hours of my day listening, I haven't picked up my sticks or a guitar in nearly 2 years. Ridiculous, I know. Tonight I spent 3 hours getting my hands back in shape and I must admit, it feels fucking great!

When Expectations Are Exceeded: Valve

Last week, EA held their big summer press event. When I saw the coverage start pouring in I turned a blind eye. EA, along with Microsoft are in my shit books and I really didn't care to hear about their list of sequels that are coming out this holiday season. That is, until I saw Valve mentioned in one of the headlines. I had forgotten that Half-Life 2 is now published by EA and with Episode 2 on the horizon, I had to check in to see if there was any exciting news. What followed can only be described as a bombardment of awesomeness.

Moving Sucks: Annnd We’re in!

Deanna and I thought we had this moving thing down. We organized everything while packing and labeled every single box so we know where stuff was when we would need it. All of our moving day arrangements were made weeks in advance and leading up to the big day, we weren't stressed in the least. As a matter of fact, we were totally stoked at how smoothly things were going and really looking forward to getting into our new home. Moving day came along, and everything started to go to shit - and I do mean everything.

Surprise! “Achievement Unlocked”

I've been going through a pretty dry spell in regards to increasing my Gamerscore. This is mostly due to the fact that new game releases have been trickling out every other week at best for the past couple months. There just isn't a whole lot to play right now on the 360. But here's where the whole achievement points system really shines. When I realized I hadn't gone up a single point in about 2 weeks, I went back and checked out which achievements were still up for grabs in my current games.

Moving Sucks: T-Minus 11 Days

I've been in the same small apartment for a little over 5 years. When I moved out, I was a bachelor with hardly even enough stuff to make the place look occupied. Now I've got a wife, daughter, 2 cats, a bunch of fish and more stuff than we know what to do with. I work from home and since there's no other place for it - my computer setup is in the bedroom. And if you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I work from home. So yes, I spend the majority of my life in the bedroom. Just about every task I perform (hehe) takes place within a 6 foot radius. Simply put, we've out-grown our home.
