No E3 ’07 Reflections From Me

Every year since I started this blog, I’ve followed up E3 with my own reflections on the major platforms and up-coming games. Last year I wrote at length on the hardware and software Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony‘s brought to the event. But, I’ve decided to skip this year. I really didn’t see a whole lot that impressed me. I feel re-assured that the Xbox 360 is the platform with the most promise, both now and in future, but Nintendo and Sony really failed to impress me yet again. So much so, that I couldn’t even bring myself to finish watching Nintendo’s opening keynote. I actually felt embarrassed for Reggie as I watched him awkwardly announce Nintendo’s “big deals” which were time and time again met with silence. And as for Sony, well, their poorly timed liquidation sale disguised as a price drop left me with a taste of disgust towards those shady douchebags.

One thing I will comment on though, is the absolutely stellar line-up of games we have headed our way starting as early as next month. I better start saving my pennies, as there’s plenty of titles that look to be worth spending them on.

Those are quite the lists, eh? Q4 is normally jam packed with huge titles as publishers bring out their big guns for the holidays season. But a lot of these games are out before October, which is awesome! Give us a bit more time to get to each game without having to rush through them.

Are you as excited as I am for the coming shit storm of massive titles? Did I leave anything out?
