It’s Been A Long Time Coming…

I’ve finally got my filthy paws on a Mac. A Mini to be exact. But this tiny little machine is not to be snickered at. It may be small, but it packs a punch in the form of an elegant and beautiful operating system, where all the applications live in harmony and play with one another as if they were all part of the same happy family.

I’ve been a Windows user since 95 (Windows 95, that is) and it’s been anything but a treat. Hardly anything works as it should the first time around. And if it did – you’re lucky, and it’ll probably be fucked the next time you fire it up.

There I go. Barely into the second paragraph – I told myself this wouldn’t turn into a Windows bashing post. So I’ll check my jaded ass there. After all, anything I have to say about Windows is only based on 10 miserable years of using Windows based machines on a daily basis. Anyway, back to the goodness…

I’ve seen the screenshots and video demonstrations. I’ve heard tales of Widgets and Spotlight. But none of it does any justice to the pure gold that is Mac OS X Tiger. After only a few days of using it for work, I’ve fallen head over heals like that drunken jock trying to grab-ass at the Hooters’ waitress as she’s serving a family of 4 including 2 kids that had to have been under 10. Who brings kids to Hooters, anyway?

Back on track… I don’t need to go into details about all the things that make working on a Mac great. Let’s just say I feel like an idiot for waiting to jump on board the hippest bandwagon this side of emo hair until now.

Here’s to smooth sailing, from here on in.
