More Time Equals Less Time

I’m at the end of my second week with Participatory Culture Foundation and so far, it’s been great and I’m really enjoying the change. I made sure to come up with a schedule for myself to keep organized and on task. It really hasn’t been hard to adjust to working from home. PCF are pretty flexible with hours, and I’ve been taking advantage of the situation by swimming on my lunch break just about every day. Considering that only three weeks ago, I hadn’t been swimming in over two years – that’s quite the drastic change in routine, indeed! My white ass has actually got some colour on it now – well, everything butt (har-har!), actually!

I’ve been wrapping up my day anywhere between 5:30pm and 7pm, depending on how long I’m in the poo’. I thought for sure I’d be spending more time posting and working on my own projects, but it’s been quite the opposite. While I have been spending quite a bit of time on my computer after hours – mostly spent reading articles and being dazzled by all this Ajax goodness that’s popping up all over the place. Oh, and playing game!. I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with Sam Fisher lately and was tossing bodies in FlatOut tonight – that’s some good, mud slingin’ fun, that is!

Anyway, back to the point. I guess I’m just surprised that with all this extra time on my hands, I don’t really have the drive to do all those things I’ve never had time for in the past. But the trade-off being – I’m spending tons of time with Hannah. I actually eat every meal with her now, which is awesome! Even though I spend the majority of my day sitting at this desk, it’s still awesome to be able to leave the room and hang out with wife and daughter, who I would only see for a couple hours a day when I was at Much. I guess you could say I’ve got my priorities straight and am enjoying more of this ‘real life’ thing.
