With having a new baby and recently going back to freelance work, my schedule/routine has been thrown off quite a bit. It’s pretty tough to plan… anything, actually. Let alone, setting aside some dedicated time for gaming. I’ve basically just been parking my ass on the couch whenever it’s free and the baby’s either sleeping or occupied by someone else. Just when I had accepted the fact that I wouldn’t be getting any new games until the holidays (which are now upon us), Sony pulls one out of their ass and manages to get the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament 3 shipped on December 10. In case you weren’t following – originally, UT3 was set to launch on the PS3 along side the PC version on November 19. The fact that I bought my PlayStation 3 back in August and have only owned a total of 2 games in that time is a little unsettling. What’s worse, is previous to last week, I only had Warhawk in my collection as I had traded in Resistance a couple months back. Today was a big day for Xbox 360 owners around the world. Microsoft rolled out the Fall update, along with Xbox Originals, and announced a launch date of December 11 for the Video Marketplace in Europe and Canada. The second major Dashboard update for this year packs quite a punch with a few major features, along with a massive list of smaller fixes and additions. So, how is that disappointing?

Just after this year’s E3, I wrote about all the great games that are coming out by the end of this year and broke them down into two lists. Games I will most likely buy and others that I’m on the fence about. The year isn’t up yet and we’re actually in the calm before the storm at this point in time. But I don’t know about you, I’m feeling the pinch and having a hard time getting all the gaming in that I’d like to. I’ve already put a few games on the back-burner…

Some big news was announced a couple days ago in the land of video games. The former PC/PS3 exclusive Unreal Tournament 2007 is now headed to the Xbox 360 and has been renamed, Unreal Tournament 3. Wait, what? Now, it’s been a while since I’ve been in school so my math skills are a little hazy, but doesn’t 3+1=4? I’ve been a fan of the UT series since it’s debut and have all current releases sitting next to me as I type this. All 3 of them – Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2003 and Unreal Tournament 2004. Notice, there’s no Unreal Tournament 2 in that list and there’s also 3 of them.
