About two months ago, I was hating on Burnout Paradise something fierce. And with good reason! A demo was released that poorly represented the incredible game that is the full Burnout Paradise experience. I’ve never seen an upset over a demo quite like this, and it definitely proves that they don’t work for every game. Such is the case with Burnout Paradise. Perhaps if the demo was delivered with a disclaimer and a bit of an explanation as to what had changed and what’s been stripped out of the demo, it would have…

Tuesday, November 13th was an odd day. The long awaited and highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed was released and the reviews started to make their way online. The way it all played out was what made it odd. 1UP seemed be the first to get their review online and it made its rounds like wild fire. 7.0, wow! Within a couple hours, IGN’s review was published… 7.7! W…T…F?! I this point, I was a little discouraged and couldn’t wait…

Just under two weeks ago, I wrote about having to budget my gaming time and outlined the titles I’m currently playing and those that will take a back seat for the time being. With nearly every game I’ve played over the past few months being a shooter, I figured Call of Duty 4 could wait. Regardless of the fact that Infinity Ward‘s contributions to the Call of Duty franchise are a couple of my favourite games of all time (Call…

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything new! The dust on my blog almost matches that of my Wii, almost. There’s been a lot going on and I’ve missed several opportunities to talk about current issues that are now ancient history. As I was going through my feed reader this evening, a few articles caught my eye and I thought I would take a moment to touch on some of them. I kind of have an informal standard of single category posts around here, but that’s all going to shit right about now.…

I used to be a huge fan of the Tony Hawk series. Before all the jackasses, gimmicks and BMX bikes, when it was more focused on skating than pulling pranks. From the first trailer I saw of Tony Hawk’s Project 8 it seemed apparent that the focus was going to shift back where it should have been all along. And with the fact that it’s built from the ground up, I found myself getting a little excited. Today a new gameplay video surfaced and it blew my fucking mind to pieces… all over my desk – brains everywhere!

There’s a pile of video hosting sites online these days. It seems like there’s a new one popping up each week. I’ve tried out most of them and have found at least one or two things that have prevented me from using them. The big ones being; Re-encoding your videos to a lower, much shittier resolution. And, only supporting 4:3 aspect ratio videos – stretching others to fit the video window.

I’ve been into the Battlefield series since the first installment, Battlefield 1942. Aside from the original Half-Life, BF 1942 was probably the game I’ve spent most hours playing. I was totally hooked on it. BF Vietnam, not as much. To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to BF 2 in the least. BF Vietnam never ran all that great on my system and was pretty buggy. I figured BF 2 would be a write-off. But so far, so good! The demo runs great! Mind you, I have all my settings on medium and low with the resolution at 1024×768, but it looks surprisingly good and plays perfect.

I’m sure everyone’s aware of the big MTV show that’s being aired this Thursday that will debut the Xbox 360. Someone at MTV thought it was a good idea to pre-tape the show – a week prior to it’s air date. With over 200 audience members attending, they thought they’d be able to do this without anyone leaking any information. MTV = S-M-R-T!
So here you have it. The first look at Xbox 360, 3 days before we were supposed to see it, courtesy of the fine folks at MTV.
