On Tuesday, January 22nd at 8:47pm, as Deanna squeezed my hand while I wiped away the tears from her tightly shut eyes, I relayed the words, “She’s here! Our baby girl is finally here.” From that moment, everything I knew about myself and my family changed. I watched as my tiny daughter struggled to open her eyes for the first time, within seconds of being placed in my arms. It’s been months since I’ve written anything remotely personal. I think my daily use of Twitter and Flickr have had a lot to do with that. I do get all of that out there, but never much at a time given Twitter’s 140 character limit, and all. There’s a lot going on in my life right now and things be a-changing. Of course, this is to be expected when you’re bringing a baby into the world.

On Friday night we welcome Gaius into our home. He’s 5 weeks-old and a tiny little thing. I’ve never held a cat his size before. He feels so fragile, yet he seems to be pretty durable. Jumping off the bed and couches is no problem for this little guy.

This morning as we were getting Hannah ready for school, Deanna realized she forgot to practice her presentation last night – that she is doing today. Hannah’s reaction was pure gold…
“But Mommy, I forgot cause I was playing video games allllll weekend!”
Amazing! A gamer in training! She played hours upon hours of Mario Party 5 and Mario Golf this weekend. She’s 6, and already well on her way!…

Whoa! That’s some hair… and some attitude! That’s Hannah’s ‘sassy’ look. Hilarious! Friday was ‘Wacky Hair Day’ at school and Hannah thought some teased pigtails would do the trick. They suuuuure did! Click here for some more sassyness from over the holidays.
On a different note, it’s been a hectic week for me. Mad sick last weekend and the snow this week has slowed me down considerably. For the most part, I was playing catch-up and ended up crazy stressed. Not cool. But I guess that’s what happens when you work a full time job …

Tuesday morning marked a very special occasion. Hannah’s Kindergarten Graduation! We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but we certainly didn’t expect this… Paper hats, the typical ‘graduation’ theme as they parade around the gym, an adorable little song (complete with actions) and an official diploma to top it all off.
