Whoa! That’s about all I have to say right now… having just played Need For Speed Underground 2 for the past 3 hours. And when I say 3 hours, I mean 3 hours… straight… no breaks, no standing up, whoa! EA took a rad game and added some ass to it. NFSU2 is simply incredible! So much fun I can’t even begin to tell you. The new free-roaming city adds so much to the game. In the first edition, you had to go back to the main menu to do your upgrades, which kind of removed you from the fast paced action every time. Now you cruise around the city between race events looking for shops. There’s different shops for different things. A body shop, performance shop, paint shop and accessories shop. And if driving around looking for things isn’t your bag, no worries, just select your destination from the map and active the GPS. It’ll guide you there!
My only complaint is the advertising. There’s more billboards than you can shake a stick at, and the perma-on screen Cingular logo is now burned into my retinae. You’d think with all these extra bucks coming in, EA would be able to afford to pay their employees overtime. Heh.
