Gears of War: Review
I really can’t say enough good things about Gears of War. It’s outstanding on every level. If you have been waiting for a good reason to pick up an Xbox 360, it’s here!

Take the beloved original Star Wars trilogy, add a handful of cuteness, a ton of fun, some hilarious cutscenes and a shit load of replay value and you’ve got yourself Lego Star Wars II.
The Good: Fun! Ho-ly is this game fun! You get to play through the original Star Wars trilogy using any character you’d like that appears in any of the films and it all takes place in the Lego universe. Sound effects are great and the original score is used through-out. Drop-in/out co-op is super handy for helping out the younglings without…
I used to be a huge fan of the Tony Hawk series. Before all the jackasses, gimmicks and BMX bikes, when it was more focused on skating than pulling pranks. From the first trailer I saw of Tony Hawk’s Project 8 it seemed apparent that the focus was going to shift back where it should have been all along. And with the fact that it’s built from the ground up, I found myself getting a little excited. Today a new gameplay video surfaced and it blew my fucking mind to pieces… all over my desk – brains everywhere!
All-and-all, I had a lot of fun playing Dead Rising. My first play was quite the chore. But once I understood how things worked and realized I’d be playing it through again, it was a ton of fun. Even though there’s no multiplayer what-so-ever, I would still recommend Dead Rising as a buy. It will take quite a few hours just to beat the story the first time through, and you’ll definitely want to jump back in and do it all over again.
In a move that will no doubt piss off Xbox 360 gamers world-wide, Official Xbox Magazine has a playable demo of F.E.A.R. bundled with it’s October issue. Since magazines for whatever reason, publish their issues a couple months in advance – you can get your hands on it now! The only downer (aside from the fact that you can’t just download it from the Marketplace) is the price of the magazine – which cost me nearly $15 CDN. But, it’s F.E.A.R. and I just couldn’t let it pass me by. After all, the PC version of F.E.A.R. is still my highest rated game to date.
It’s been a long time since I’ve raved about a band I’m into… well, online at least. From the first verse I heard, The Aggrolites hit home with me and I just fucking love that band! They bring traditional 1960s reggae with a blend of funk and soul like no other.
All in all, the single player campaign was a lot of fun. It was cool playing around with the gravity altering switches and walking on the walls and ceilings via those crazy walkways. The portals were also pretty neat, especially when exiting one that is on a wall or ceiling – you end up falling to your feet while the view rotates to the new up-right position.
BFME2 is not for everyone, so it’s best to give it a rent or check out the demo on the Marketplace before you buy. And if you’ve never played an RTS game before, be sure to bring your patience along, as you’ll probably need them while you get your bearings.
I really didn’t think I would end up with a sports game in my collection. Not to mention, a ping-pong game! But Table Tennis is just great fun and easy to just pick up and play. I’ve even played a few games with my 7 year-old daughter who had no problem learning the controls and how to use the various shots.
There’s a pile of video hosting sites online these days. It seems like there’s a new one popping up each week. I’ve tried out most of them and have found at least one or two things that have prevented me from using them. The big ones being; Re-encoding your videos to a lower, much shittier resolution. And, only supporting 4:3 aspect ratio videos – stretching others to fit the video window.
