This is where I start raving about Killzone 2 and my readership that prefers Xbox 360 either turns their head or rolls their eyes. It’s been over 2 years since I played and loved the original F.E.A.R.. Since then, there have been a couple expansion packs which were handled by a different developer which never really lived up to the first game. I couldn’t have been more thrilled to reprise the role of Staff Sergeant Matt Baker of the 101st Airborne Division in Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway. After all, it’s been years since a truly great WWII shooter has graced the market. And while the genre has definitely been over-saturated, I’m always willing to make room for one more in my collection if it’s of the stature of the Brothers in Arms series.

Over the past month or so, I’ve found that my schedule has taken a more hectic and unpredictable turn. Obviously, having a baby around really shakes thing up and it’s pretty hard to plan anything. Some time over the past month I went from turning my nose up at the thought of a guitar rhythm game to being totally stoked on it. Project 8 puts a rad new spin on an old series that’s gone downhill over the past couple releases. Despite constant framerate issues and the occasional stupid/silly goal (fucking Bam!), THP8 is a solid and very fun game.
The Good: Character models look amazing. Absolutely massive open environment is lots of fun to skate in. Even with its faults, NFS Carbon is still a very fun and exciting racing game.
The Good: Looks and sounds great. Super intense music during cop chases and canyon duels. Cutscenes with real actors look a lot better than that of Need for Speed Most Wanted. Great flow through the first few events in career mode. Some pretty rad unlockable cars that I haven’t seen in other games.

Being a huge fan of the Call of Duty series from the beginning, I was extremely disappointed to discover that COD3 is not up to par with its predecessors and feels like it would be a better fit as part of the Medal of Honor series.
The Good: It’s a step up from COD2 in terms of visuals. Ability to cook grenades and throw enemy grenades back before they explode. Lots of dudes on screen.
