Aside from a couple of the big guys in the gaming industry, I don’t indulge in year end top XX lists. In fact, I’ve hit “mark all as read” in my feed reader more times over this past week than I likely did over the course of this year. But for some reason, I felt like doing a year end list of my own. I grew up hearing the phrase, “If you have nothing good to say, don’t say anything at all.” all too often. But there’s no way I’m biting my tongue this time. The entire time I spent playing Mercenaries 2, I was trying to overlook the bugs and flaws in hopes that the core game would shine through. But even that leaves a lot to be desired since the main components are lacking severely on about every level. Mercenaries 2 is a front-runner for being the most disappointing game of the year.…

Just after this year’s E3, I wrote about all the great games that are coming out by the end of this year and broke them down into two lists. Games I will most likely buy and others that I’m on the fence about. The year isn’t up yet and we’re actually in the calm before the storm at this point in time. Every year since I started this blog, I’ve followed up E3 with my own reflections on the major platforms and up-coming games. Last year I wrote at length on the hardware and software Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony‘s brought to the event. But, I’ve decided to skip this year. I really didn’t see a whole lot that impressed me.
