I knew while I was working on reproducing the feed icon that some folks would find it useful. I had no idea it would take off as it did! I’m extremely stoked that so many people have embraced it and accepted it as the new standard icon. Feels great knowing that I’ve created something that others can benefit from – all for the sake of a better internet.

feediconsA ton of eyeballs have seen this site in the past 48 hours and that’s rad as hell – but who wants to read some dude’s long-winded article and have to scroll all the way to the bottom of it to download the icon package? Figured that this icon is important enough to give it a proper home. And thus, I present to you feedicons.com.

On December 14, the Microsoft RSS Team made an announcement on their blog. This announcement is extremely important on many levels and I’m really surprised there hasn’t been more talk about it. The road from ugly-ass, table-abusive coding to standards compliant XHTML/CSS is definitely a bumpy one. There have been so many browser specific issues I’ve had to find work-arounds for I’m not even going to attempt to list them here. One of them has been plaguing this site since I redesigned it, and you may have noticed it if you’re an IE user. Right-aligned images disappeared all together, leaving a big, white space. After re-coding the CSS for the surrounding DIVs several times, I had almost lost hope and tried applying various styles to the img …
