F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

It’s been over 2 years since I played and loved the original F.E.A.R.. Since then, there have been a couple expansion packs which were handled by a different developer which never really lived up to the first game. The console ports of the original game also seemed to fall short and admittedly, this contributed to my lack of enthusiasm towards F.E.A.R. 2 leading up to its release. Once it was released and I had read some solid reviews from writers that had played through the original game, I quickly became excited about this sequel. …

December 2006 Catch All

Things have been so hectic lately, and yet I feel like I’m hardly moving in any direction at all. I’ve definitely been feeling like I’m living to work, as apposed to the opposite which I much prefer. It truly is a hard cycle to break – one that I’ve not even begun to figure out. It’s one of those “you know what needs to be done but can’t seem to bring yourself to do it” situations. And all the while I’ve been telling myself that I’m almost there. Just about in the clear when I can have my evenings and weekends back.

F.E.A.R. 360 = Just as Good, if Not Better

In a move that will no doubt piss off Xbox 360 gamers world-wide, Official Xbox Magazine has a playable demo of F.E.A.R. bundled with it’s October issue. Since magazines for whatever reason, publish their issues a couple months in advance – you can get your hands on it now! The only downer (aside from the fact that you can’t just download it from the Marketplace) is the price of the magazine – which cost me nearly $15 CDN. But, it’s F.E.A.R. and I just couldn’t let it pass me by. After all, the PC version of F.E.A.R. is still my highest rated game to date.

F.E.A.R.: Review

Straight up, F.E.A.R. is one of the best games I have ever played. It’s one of those games that comes along once or twice a year that just blows your mind, over and over and fully justifies the thousands of dollars you’ve spent on hardware to game on a PC. It’s hard to find a starting point for this review as every aspect of the game is astounding.

My Love/Hate Relationship With PC Gaming

I love playing games on my PC, I really do. But at the same time, I find myself completely frustrated with it on a regular basis. I’m sure I’m not alone on this, but here’s some of the main issues I have with PC gaming…

Hardware

It seems no matter what you put in your case or how much cash you drop on it – you never reach that stage where you can simply fire up any game you feel like playing and get the best experience possible out of it. There’s always tweaking to …

Post E3 2005 Thoughts

It’s been just over a week since E3 wrapped up. I’ve watched dozens of trailers, read tons of articles and seen a ridiculous amount of stunning screenshots. I tell ya – this is an exciting time for gamers!

GameSpot‘s coverage of the event was impeccable this year. I signed up for a GameSpot Complete membership for E3 last year so I could watch the press conferences live. The problem was that the majority of the live feeds were chugging so bad they weren’t watchable. Kind of disappointing, but I ended up downloading something like …
