I’ve finally got my filthy paws on a Mac. A Mini to be exact. But this tiny little machine is not to be snickered at. It may be small, but it packs a punch in the form of an elegant and beautiful operating system, where all the applications live in harmony and play with one another as if they were all part of the same happy family.
I’ve been a Windows user since 95 (Windows 95, that is) and it’s been anything but a treat. Hardly anything works as it should the first time around. …

If you don’t know what Podcasts are, you must have been living under a rock for the past few months. It’s all the rage! All the cool kids are doing it – which is part of the reason I’ve kept my distance. I’m not a fan of the hype machine. But I must admit, Podcasting has actually lived up to it’s reputation.
I’ve been working at home for about a month and a half now. It’s amazing how quickly you grow tired of the same music day in, day out. Even if you have over …

When I left off, I still had some significant PC hardware to pick up. I’ve since upgraded to a 520 W PSU and a P4 3.2 GHZ processor. Battlefield 2 is running pretty smooth now. I could still use some more ram, but that’ll come in time. I love getting new hardware because it always gets me playing games I haven’t touched in months. Going back to Far Cry with all the details maxed is like an entirely new experience. Considering I didn’t even finish it my first time around as it start chugging …

Microsoft announced the first stage of their beta testing for Internet Explorer 7 today – which is a closed beta, intended for developers. How did I get it? There’s this wonderful thing called BitTorrent – you might have heard of it.
Anyway, things didn’t start out so good for my testing experience. I didn’t listen to Microsoft when they told me to close all my applications I had running because, well… it’s never been a problem before. I usually keep working in Photoshop or Dreamweaver while installing a game in the background. But that’s beside …

I’m sure you’ve all played around with Google’s latest toy – Google Maps. Pretty rad stuff! I tried it out a few weeks ago before the satellite image feature was added and wasn’t nearly as impressed. Now, this is just plain cool! The satellite image of downtown Toronto – the surrounding area of my work is pretty killer. The shadows cast from the taller buildings and the CN Tower look awesome. I wish I could view the city from this angle every day. It’s a lot harder to make out the douche bags and …

A new build of MSN Messenger 7 beta is making it’s rounds today. Normally, I wouldn’t get too excited about anything coming from MS – but the team working on MSN is actually doing some cool shit lately.
The new build includes a couple new features that I’m pretty stoked on. You now have the option to view your friend’s avatars in the contact list in place of the little MSN dude. It can be a mini-thumbnail (as seen in the screenshot to the right) or it can be a bigger size which is about …

Well, it’s finally happened. Canada has it’s own iTunes store.
Having read Downhill Battle’s take on iTunes, I wasn’t too stoked to jump on board and start handing my money over to the dinosaurs. But I was in a situation where I could either…
A. Never find the album I’ve been looking for since October 5th, when it was supposed to be released.
or…
B. Pay $8 and get it from iTunes instantly.
So yes, I gave in and shelled out my hard earned cash for some digital music that …

Mozilla, today released a preview of their next-gen browser, Firefox. As I’ve done many-a-times, I encourage everyone to download this fine piece of software. This release is a glimpse of what is to come in the finished version – which is due next month. A couple improvements I’ve noticed so far are greatly increased page rendering and a new RSS bookmark system. Very cool!
Today’s a big day for Mozilla as they’ve always released fresh builds of their self-titled browser (which is now at 1.7.3) and email client, Thunderbird. The changes to Thunderbird …
