I don't like Gamespot. Simply because their website spazzes out when viewed in Firefox (at least for me it does) and their content is hardly worth looking at. Honestly, I think IGN.com and 1up do a better job in terms of content (for IGN) and creativity (gotta love the 1up show!). I also agree that I've seen some dubious high scores from Gamespot.

@David: I agree – they seem to be the one source for video game content that continues to grow as the internet and technology does. Which keeps me paying the membership fee year after year without hesitation.

@Matt: I find that hard to believe, but maybe you've gained some first hand experience that I haven't. I find their reviews to be brutally honest, and I absolutely love that.

@Jesse: Didn't Youtube just get bought for a kabillion dollars? Maybe I'm thinking of something else? And don't get me started on Google vidoe… worst. resolution. ever!

I've heared youtube was looking at going out of buisness because of much higher than expected bandwidth costs… the horror. I host a couple videos on google video my self.

Like Luke, I'm not a fan of Gamespot either, but mostly for ethical reasons. I'm of the belief that there's some greedy corruption with the site, and their review of certain games where they have gotten sponsorship money from their publisher has some questionable value to it.

This does look like a good feature, but I think I'll stick with an internal implementation for now.

Gamespot has been doing everythign right as of late whle other gaming sites, like 1UP, have run out of steam creatively. I have been using it more and more for my daily news source (as you know) and the user video feature is an example of what a forward thinking website Gamespot is.

I've never really been a big user of gamespot, perhaps this will turn me around. i always liked watching the halo and counter strike tricks vids. BTW what is your gamespot username?
