So Close, Yet So Far

CHUM is working on a game reviews site and as such, we’ve got a steady flow of games coming into the Interactive department. Today a PS2 loaner came in and I quickly snatched it for the weekend. Nice – I can finally play God Of War! You couldn’t possibly understand how stoked I am to play this game. Looks incredible and one of my co-workers who has just beaten it, has basically giving me a breakdown of the prior night’s experiences each morning for the past 2 weeks on our way to the store to get our morning coffee. So the build up from that, on top of all the videos I’ve watched online, has me all giddy and dying to play it.

I made a pit-stop at Rogers on my way home tonight… and they’re all out.

Worst!

I picked up GTA: San Andreas, though and have played through the first few missions. So weird playing the PS2. Everything feels and looks so… old. Totally feels dated to me, even though this game just came out 6 months ago. Strange. Guess it’s cause I’m used to rocking most of my games on the PC, and the rest on Xbox. I’ve been spoiled. Heh.

Hopefully someone’s 3 day rental is up tonight and there will be a copy there waiting for me at Rogers tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

  1. After checking out 2 Rogers Video stores and 1 Blockbuster today, I have come to the realization that the people doing the purchasing for both companies need to pay more attention to the industry. 3 copies in each store – and of course, they're all out. I did notice that they had an abundance of Gran Turismo 4, though… and about 90% of them were in. Go figure! Hype isn't everything, shmucks!
