Getting Ready To Reboot

Only 19 days until the first bi-annual November 1 CSS Reboot. I signed up months ago to ensure that I actually put some effort into this site. Mostly because I shut down Media Press and still have the site lingering. I fully intended to have a portfolio section as part of this site, but never got around to it. Once I have that in place, I can officially close the Media Press doors.

That’s not all I have in store for the third instalment of my little space on the web. This is going to be a huge overhaul. Not just a front-end upgrade, but the entire site will be re-organized and presented completely different. Over the past few months, I’ve added a few features which have remained half-way implemented (the tags on the archives page for example). I’ve got a few more features and added functionality that will be a part of MB 3.0, but I’ll keep them to myself for now.

New design, added features and more functionality… all of those things are great, but what keeps people coming back to your site is the content. I’ve never really made a valiant effort to write solid or original content. When I started this site, I never had a plan or any direction at all. I simply started posting about whatever came to mind. I don’t have a problem with this as I myself frequent a few blogs of the same nature. But I would like to offer readers something of value at least once in a while. How I’m going to accomplish this is still up in the air. I have a few ideas and have started working on a plan of action for each. One thing for sure, is that the frequency of updates will be greatly increased. That’s not to say I’ll be posting more often – I guess you’ll have to come back on November 1 to find out what I could mean by that.

Since there’s a lot of work to be done in the coming weeks, I’m going to be taking the site offline while I work on it. I’m not sure when this will happen. Probably early next week, or maybe even some time over the weekend. I just completed the homepage design – once I have the subpages done and it’s time to start cutting, I’ll pull it offline.
