If you haven’t heard by now, apparently the boys have called it a day and are going on an ‘indefinite hiatus’. Their label issued a statement a few days ago to the media…

“For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured and done nonstop promotion all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends.”

And what a better time? Mark and Tom both have young children, everyone in the world who wanted to see them has done so at least once… and if they haven’t, it’s their own fault as they’ve had plenty of opportunities., and let’s not forget the last record. Personally, I would have rather seen them split before that album was released, but whatever. One crap album out of the 6 they’ve released isn’t all that bad.

So really, this could be a good thing! Imagine they stayed together and continued to put out a stream of garbage from here on like so many other bands have done. Better to pack it in while you’re still in the good books than fizzle out like the rest. How’s that for putting a positive spin on the situation?
