Remember this? It’s been just over two weeks and every aspect of my ‘professional life’ has changed. On Wednesday, June 29 I accepted a job offer to act as Site Manager for Participatory Culture Foundation. PCF was founded by the dudes behind Downhill Battle. Between DHB and their current focus – an opensource internet tv platform, I must say, I’m pretty stoked to be a part of the team! Imagine – spending my days working on projects that I can stand behind and be proud of. Amazing!
This coming week is my last at Much. I will most definitely miss the people. The immediate team I have been working with for the past few years are a great bunch! Not just co-workers, but friends. Some of the closest friends I have – I might add. We were moved into the middle of the studio a few weeks ago, where we are now surrounded by tv producers, VJs and other tv people. I’ve quite enjoyed being more a part of the action and also the opportunity to get to know some of them a little better. It’s a shame that move didn’t happen sooner.
Another big change has come of this. I’ve decided to fold Media Press. I am keeping a couple clients on board that I’ve been working with for years, but the majority of them I will have to let go. This was a hard decision to make, but as I said previously, I’m really not happy with the road that I’m on and I need a major change. Since I’m now going to be working from home all day, every day – I think it will be very hard to put in the same hours I am now into Media Press. Not to mention, I really like the idea of getting some of my life back! Actually being done work, and not having something else to do all the time. It sucks when you’ve always got this guilty feeling in the back of your mind when you’re doing anything but work for someone else. I think it’s time to really enjoy my life and I feel that’s well deserved.
So, here I go! The major changes I’ve been longing for are right in front of me and I’m ready to make the leap.
I’d also like to note that this is the first Sunday night in months that I’m not in a shitty mood due to the anticipation of having to return to work the following morning.
w00t!

9 people have had something to contribute so far.
Hot shit dude, way to go
I’m so happy for ya hun! You have worked your ass off for years to get where you are and it’s finally paying off. I know you weren’t happy at much so this is a perfect opportunity to get out.
