Well, validation is just a dream on big sites, especially those with a large comment based system. It's simply an ideal and not usually too practical.

This page is not Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict!

Actually this is my fault - one of my comments is the only reason for this page not to validate. It just has an empty "a" tag - don't know how did he got there, though. :-) But this can fixed very easily by Matt.

Try validating the main page, Damned. It says:

This Page Is Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict!

Matt, setting a "min-width: 930px;" to the #top container fixes that problem. I checked it by editing CSS through Web Dev Extension in Firefox and it worked fine.

I'm happy to be helpful. :-)

I mentioned transitional in my comment which got eaten... That hack is needed for ‹IE6 and IE6 in quriks mode, aka HTML transitional. XHTML transitional triggers standards mode in IE... nice to see you've bumped up to strict... now that wasn't hard was it!

Looks like another 'thank you' goes in the direction of Vladimir. I used to use that technique before I started using negative margins. I switched when I needed to drop something right in the centre of the screen and the negative margin method works best for that.

I've changed the centering, but the background on the top gets a little fucked in good browsers - non-IE. But to tell you the truth, it will most likely be IE users that are browsing at 800x600 anyway. ;-)

Oh, and Lou - No you may not!
