You touched on a couple points I left out, half intentionally. While I enjoyed most of the music, the jazz sax drove me up the wall. Didn’t like that one bit.

Adding more depth to the story via optional audio logs is a trend I fully stand behind, but I didn’t quite like the implementation in ODST. Mostly because there always seemed to be a fight following the activation of one. So as much as I wanted to hear them, I was rarely paying attention. Or, found them to be a distraction from the battle.

I saw down one night with intentions of tracking down the remaining logs. After a couple hours of roaming the streets, I had found half a dozen more, but had definitely got my fill of searching. Every bit of that city looks the same, and it’s very hard to remember where you’ve been.

I thought the single player campaign was a fresh take on the series, I also preferred the open world feel over the strict linear path that you're given in previous Halo's, hopefully Bungie manage to give Reach the same treatment. Sadie's Story was a nice touch too, the audio logs placed over Martin O'Donnell's brilliant score gave a great sense of atmosphere in a dark and abandoned New Mombasa.

I for one never managed to pick up any DLC maps for Halo 3 so you can understand how eager I was to get my hands on the "content heavy" second disc. That bundled with the Reach beta, Firefight mode and an unmissable campaign makes for an oh-so-awesome package, one I would recommend for anyone that owns a 360!
