Last time, I saw a Wii in a store here in the Philippines and It’s smaller than I thought. Because when you look at it on images in the computer, it’s like a big, tilted console. I was surprised when I actually saw it in person, so cute and small. However, I have NO PLANS in buting it because it’s too expensive. I’ll stick to my primitive PS1 and play Tekken. LEI RULZ!

By the way, congratulations Matt! Have fun with your Wii!

Red Steel arrived – and it really sucks The graphics are extremely buggy and the game is stroggling everywhere… I think it’s about 20 fps or so… not enough to play at all

I really like Excite Truck, it’s fun Today I’m gonna test Wario Wario Smooth Moves (rented). Many people say it’s even much better than Rayman… and I do LOVE Rayman, so I’m very excited. Cannot wait until this evening ..

Nice buy!

I’ve had my Wii for a while now, with Zelda, Red Steel, Wii Play, Wii Sports, Excite Truck, Super Monkey Ball and Warioware

All of them are good fun, especially Zelda, Warioware, Excite Truck and yes, Red Steel. I really enjoyed Red Steel after I got passed the 2 hour learning curve. As for the people above me saying it has Playstation 1 graphics… huh? It looks like a high end Xbox 1 game.

Make sure you stick with Zelda, it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played .

Sweet man. I’m actually surprised you got a Wii because the graphics aren’t the greatest.

Although, I do appreciate a game that has a great art style and while Sonic isn’t anything to write home about, it does look pretty slick in that regard.

Wii Sports is fun. I’m more inclined to play tennis because the controls feel more responsive and intuitive. Boxing is okay, but the response time is pretty bad.

I’ve got to admit, creating Mii’s is pretty fun. When I first read about it however I wasn’t that impressed.

The control scheme is by far it’s greatest asset, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise. You either get it or you don’t and it most cases people are just naturally adapting.

Next, you need to post your Wii friend code.

I haven’t used the Wii for anything other than multiplayer fun. I really haven’t been very impressed with it at all :/ Happy for you though. Hope you enjoy it more than I have.

@Jonathan: Hmmm, I’ll give that Trauma Center game some thought. Not sure if it’s my thing, but I might give it a rent if there’s nothing else of interest some day.

@Matt: Yeah, I’ve had a GameCube for years. Resident Evil 4 is still one of my favourite games on any platform. Incredible.

@Paul: Hah, you know – I never meant to keep this favicon for as long as I have. I wanted something other than my face and that’s the best I could come up with.

@Skar: There are definitely some gimmicky games out there, and there always will be. I recently heard of a Zoro game being developed for Wii *yawn*. But I believe we haven’t really seen any games that make great use of the controls. Just wait for Metroid Prime 3.

@Peter: Honestly regarding Sonic, I never liked Sega growing up and I think that’s mostly why I ditched the game. That and the fact that most Sonic games since the originals have (supposedly) been garbage. Although, I read a review stating the Wii game is the best Sonic game in years.

We bought a Wii at my work. Now we sometimes just drop our work and play some Wii Sports. It’s pretty fun, especcially since we all made our own Mii-characters…

But imho the Wii and his controllers are just some gimmick. It’s fun for a while, but at the long run it will get bored.

I just bought myself a Xbox360 and that fcking things pwnes so much! I really can’t stop talking about how great it all is, the Xbox Live, the online gameplay, the singleplayer etc.

But ok. Enough offtopic. Great review, Matt… as usual
