Yes! Wordpress rules!

Thanks for sharing this information, it's going to be useful to a lot of people. I read it and kept thinking, "that's what I do, yep, yep, and that too." home.php is the icing on the wordpress cake, and the ability to mix hand coded markup, wordpress content, and plugin content is totally awesome, I don't know how I ever would have been able to build complex sites without wordpress.

Nice review so far. I had fun with WordPress templates for <a>CSS Lounge</a>, although it's not as complicated as this, it's pretty easy to build up stuff very quickly. I'd recommend WordPress for sure. It's amazing how many completely different WP powered sites are out there, not just the normal basic blog style either.

Thanks for that matt, was good to get some insight on what happens. Though i won't be able to use any of it, since i use MovableType :P but i've gotten used to the crazy template system they used, i have used WP in the past for other projects and probably will if they don't want to pay any money for it.

NOW FOR THE CSS PART!! GOGOGO!

Trevor: I definitely agree in regards to the sucky RSS buttons. I originally wanted to make them really prominent, but they some how ended up small and some what out of place.

dave: idGettr is awesome! For sure, would be a good idea to link to it from the admin... also from your flickrRSS page. I was digging through your comments hoping to find an answer as well.

Chris: Awesome! Thank you! I can honestly say I've referred to your tutorials on several occasions and really appreciate the work you put into them.

Patrick: That's great! I'm glad this might be useful for you. One of the main reasons for exposing my 'secrets' is to show that they're not secrets at all. I really haven't done anything spectacular here and for the most part, I'm simply using the default WordPress functions. It is indeed, a great tool and I'd be stoked if I helped convince people to convert to WordPress.

BTW, I got your Old School Batton and have been looking around for a good photo to use. Will post it soon, thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to explain, Matt. I'm not a Wordpress user (yet), but in the near future my site is going to get an overhaul that includes a Wordpress backend. It's just too tedious for me to keep up my own custom CMS that runs the site now, as I'd rather be doing design and not programming.

I'm definitely going to need some of the info in this post soon though, so props to you for saving me some searching later on.

Very nice right up, and thanks for the kind words and the link love. The reason I write the tutorials I do is to be able to wake up one day and see something as hot as this on the net.

Keep it up.
